In 1 Timothy 6, Paul instructs Timothy to encourage those who are rich in this world to be generous and willing to share. In so doing, they will lay up treasure as a firm foundation for the future. But what kind of treasure is this?

Some view treasure as heavenly rewards for good deeds done on earth. But treasure, by definition, is something valuable you discover, not something you earn.
