Stop trying to love God more.
You already do.
That may sound shocking—but it’s straight from Scripture.
“Grace… to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love” (Ephesians 6:24).
Undying.
Not fluctuating. Not fragile.
Undying.
Why?
Because your love didn’t originate with you.
“We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).
“The love of God has been poured out within our hearts” (Romans 5:5).
God put His love in you.
So you’re not trying to generate love.
You’re expressing it.
And here’s where people get it backward:
They focus on loving God more.
But Scripture shifts the focus:
“That you may know how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ” (Ephesians 3:18–19).
As you discover His love for you…
You’re “filled with the Spirit.”
That’s what Ephesians 5 is about.
Not getting more of the Spirit—you already have all of Him.
It’s about being overwhelmed, inspired, and motivated by His love.
So don’t focus on your love.
Focus on His.
Because when His love fills your view…
Your love flows naturally.
And “love covers a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8).
