Rethink God, Grace, and Who You Are

Day 5: Completely Forgiven (Yes, Completely!)

Picture this:

Jesus in heaven… pacing back and forth… watching you… waiting for your next apology.

That’s how a lot of people think.

But the Bible paints a totally different picture.

Jesus is seated.

Why?

Because the work is finished.

“By one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified” (Hebrews 10:14).

One offering.
All time.

If forgiveness were ongoing, Jesus would still be working.
If forgiveness were partial, He’d still be standing.

But He sat down.

Done means done.

So you’re not forgiven little by little.
You’re forgiven once for all.

And that makes people nervous.

“Isn’t that dangerous?”

No—the real danger is the opposite.

“Whoever lacks… has forgotten their purification from past sins” (2 Peter 1:9).

When you forget you’re fully forgiven, you start living like your past still defines you.

You shrink. You hide. You perform. You compensate.

But when you remember?

Something powerful happens.

Jesus said, “He who is forgiven much loves much” (Luke 7:47).

Not “he who is forgiven a little at a time.”

He who knows the magnitude of their forgiveness.

So don’t dial it down.

Don’t soften it.

Don’t make forgiveness smaller to make it feel safer.

Lean into it.

You are completely forgiven—and that’s not scary.

That’s freedom.

Jesus sat down because your forgiveness is finished.
