Grateful: A Heart Made Great and Full by Grace – Part 2

What if God Himself Doesn’t Want You Feeling Guilty?

What if the guilt you’ve been carrying around isn’t “godly sorrow” but spiritual spam you should’ve deleted years ago? In our gratitude series, I’m diving into one of the most liberating truths of the Gospel: We’re forgiven and cleansed forever. Not “being forgiven.” Not inching our way into God’s good graces one apology at a time.

Earthly forgiveness runs on remorse and well-worded apologies. But God’s system? It runs on blood—one sacrifice that worked forever. Legalists panic at that. “Careful! Don’t tell Christians they’re totally forgiven!” Too late. God already did.

So go ahead and shut down the confession booth, the begging, the bargaining, the spiritual guilt treadmill. If Jesus isn’t dying on repeat, you’re not being forgiven on repeat. Your sins aren’t stacked up waiting for attention—they’re gone. Removed. Forgotten.

Ready to see why this “dangerous” message is only dangerous to the enemy? Watch now!

Discussion Questions:

  1. Read Hebrews 10:1-3. What do you think about letting go of feeling guilty for your sins? Can you have remorse and regret without falling into guilt? Explain.
  2. Read Colossians 2:13-14. Why is this one of the most powerful encapsulations of the Gospel in all of Scripture?
  3. Read Ephesians 4:32. Is this different from Matthew 6:14-15? How is it different? Why is it different?
  4. Read Hebrews 9:25-28. React to this statement: Jesus is not in heaven dying over and over, so you’re not on Earth being forgiven over and over.
  5. Read Ephesians 4:28. If we don’t have to ask for forgiveness each time we sin, then what can we do?
  6. Read 2 Peter 1:9 and Luke 7:47. React to this statement: Total forgiveness is dangerous—but only to the enemy!
