“40 flood stories? Alternative lifestyles?”

How should we view the many flood stories worldwide in so many different cultures? My friend has embraced an alternative lifestyle. He now wants to lead a Bible study teaching affirming theology. What should I do? Some say we’re forgiven positionally but still need daily forgiveness. Is this true? What about 1 John 1:9?
