“I think the Spirit can leave me…”

How is eternal life different from everlasting life? Will God ever blot us out of the Book of Life if we don’t obey Him? I think Christians can experience judgment upon themselves and sometimes feel the Spirit leave them. I read somewhere that we are not servants but sons of God. Where is that and what does it mean for us?
