“Is this really God or my own negative thinking?”

Does God have a sense of humor? Is there any proof? I feel like I’m always doing wrong, and I can’t ever recover the promise God made to me. I need His rescue, but I don’t know how to get it! How can I know the difference between my own brain or conscience and the Spirit of God in me?
