Scared of Christ’s return?

Is 1 John 2:28 a warning to believers that they should fear the return of Christ? What is it like to be in the kingdom of God today? Does a Christian need to wait before they’re involved in ministry? Can a believer sell their soul to the devil? I missed an opportunity to share my faith and now, I want to go back and talk to them again. What should I do?
