“My wife and son died. Are they saved?”

What does it really take to be saved? I keep hearing mixed messages on the internet. My wife and son have passed away, and I’m very concerned. I struggled all my life with religiosity, but God‘s grace has set me free! How much theology do you have to have right to be saved? How do you reconcile “born of water” (John 3) with water baptism (Acts 2:38)?
