The “work” is to believe? Believe more than demons?

Are works required to be saved? If not, then what does James 2 mean about faith and works? Does saving faith produce change? What is the easiest way to start and lead a home group that shares the grace message? Does 1 Timothy 5 mean that I have to financially support parents that have been unhealthy or abusive to me? How do I do the honorable thing without being consumed with bitterness or resentment?
