“Why didn’t Jesus suffer in Hell for our sins?”

I earn a living playing in a secular band and wonder if it hurts my relationship with God. Why does James reference the Jewish law in his letter? Why didn’t Jesus have to suffer eternally in Hell to pay for our sins? What was Paul really saying about women speaking in church?
