“Will my sins block God’s blessing?”

I’m of Jewish descent. Do I need to be under the Law? My church keeps asking me about membership. Do I need to be a member? I’ve been struggling lately, and I worry my sins might prevent God from giving me a breakthrough. How can I know for sure what my purpose is in life?
